Just noticed today that there is a domestic competitor to Draggin Jeans: Diamond Gusset's Defender Motorcycle Jean.

I have no experience with either product, and both are made in the USA.  I do have a normal pair of Diamond Gusset jeans, and that crotch gusset is a definite improvement over the traditional cut in terms of comfort.  The pair I have doesn't have the straightest stitching in the world, but that's a cosmetic issue and they may well have improved in the years since mine were made.

I haven't done a feature by feature comparison, but the Diamond Gusset product has a noticeably lower price for some reason.  Sorry ladies, not available in women's sizes yet.

I have a pair of Fieldsheer Kevlar jeans. Paid $60, I think. The material is not Kevlar, or its competitor, Aramid, but a generic foreign material that is supposed to be similar. The jeans are so baggy, if I were sliding down the freeway at 60MPH, the 'kevlar' lining in the knees definitely would move around, rendering them useless.

I had my wife sew the pants so that they were not so baggy. I would not recommend them to anyone.

These Gussett jeans appear to be better built, and made in USA. At $115, it is a good deal, since most are in that price range. I would sleep better at night knowing I bought US made riding jeans.

scratcher Aren't the defender jeans $115 while the Draggin's are $99 and $109? There are cheaper Gussets but they don't seem to have the Kevlar.
Anyway, husband has a pair of Draggin' that he wore a grand total of once. He didn't think they were comfortable but he is not a good point of reference cause he doesn't think any motorcycle gear is comfortable.
They are to big for him now anyway. I keep thinking I have to get rid of them but they were so expensive and I hate to toss 'em.  Sad

You are correct.  Draggin's site is buggy or greedy or something and is showing things as USD 175 for some reason.

That's a nice find HappyC , i have 3 pairs of Draggin jeans now and love riding in jeans (just way more comfortable) but i wish there was more kevlar in them , for example riding in the cold the kevlar acts like a liner and keeps you warm while parts of the pant without kevlar makes you want to wear a pant liner ....I wish they made them completely lined with kevlar .

Think i'll give these jeans a try too come Christmas .  naughty

It seems you're looking at an Aussie site. Try here for US http://www.dragginjeans.com/

I looked at several different jeans and only one of them had knee and hip pads along with full kevlar in the upper area.  They are red route and I got them in the $70 range.  I can't say about the other jeans, but I really wanted more than just kevlar.
Kevlar does nothing for impact.
