Does anyone happen to have basically a revision list of the things done differently on the engines newer than 1984? I know the cases changed, but I don't think the cylinders or head did. I'm wondering if anything internal changed; gearbox, crank, chains, gears, etc...

Thanks in advance!

A Nighthawk, of course.

He probably means the 700s/750.

CB Tech Help. Plenty of CB's around that aren't 700S's.

Most parts should swap over. I believe the biggest difference was some sort of sidecover had a different seal and oil drain.

The head on an '86 is different due to larger exhaust stud bolts.

Your best bet is use a parts fich and compare part numbers through the three years.
One that shows the original part number and what replaced it.
Obviously some changes are done in sets, like the transmission gears and shift forks.

There are quite a few updates but it's hard to determine if the part number change was design physical or just change of supplier.

Mostly, the old will match with the new...but not entirely.
