wings  I'm so excited to say that my new forks have been installed and my bike is back on the road, thanks to Hagen's Cycles in Asheville, NC and Forking by Frank out in Illinois !  If your near the area you should check out Hagen's shop; he's a very friendly guy with a lot of neat bikes! (Though there's only 1 NH winker )

Great news!  Now 2 questions: Where are you now? and Where are you going?

Still in the Candler, NC area, staying on a friends floor.  I'm going to hold up here for about a month more than book foot to some warmer weather!  I've got a place in Micco, FL where a gentleman offered me his property to stay on.  When either the work in FL runs out or I get bored I'll be heading to Fayetteville, AR - stopping in New Orleans to see a friend.  From Arkansas I'll head south to Austin, TX where I'll probably stay a month or so.  Friends in NM, Arizona, southern Cali have all offered couches/floors as well and in between I'll continue to camp where I can!  My timing at all these places are all up in the air, if I find something interesting I might stay longer, if the weathers nice I like to be riding biker_h4h1  I just need a little more sunshine (and a new back tire soon!)

Thanks everybody for your interest in my trip.  There's many a times where I'm bored and lonely and this site keeps busy!

Your route from New Orleans to Fayetteville to Austin (or some other combination) wasn't very clear.  However, when your travels put you through Lafayette, or closest to Lafayette, shoot me a PM.  If I'm free, I could ride and meet you somewhere and even follow you westward for a while - I'd enjoy hearing about your travels.

Ride safe my friend.

Let me know when your coming to NOLA. If you need a place to wrench on the bike we have a decent setup at our place. Plenty of room and all the tools you would need. At least we could meet up for a ride.

If it's on a weekend maybe we can get the Louisiana Nighthawkers (LANs?) together for a ride.

I will definitely PM both of you when I'm coming through!  I love meeting new people and hearing stories myself, also having someone to ride with is always a treat too!

Sorry for the vagueness of my route, it's really all 'play by ear' and revolves around the weather/available work in the area...  I can't guarantee any real time I'm going to be in any spot;  I can say though that I can ride at least 6-8 hours when the temp. is anywhere above 50 degrees.  I have to stop about every 2 hours for gas which works out because that's about the time my knees start to ache!
I try and research where I'll end up each evening for campsites, or a hotel if it's to cold.  To clarify my prospective path I've put a link at the bottom of the page.  Leaving out Texas, each destination is about a 2 day ride!

Travel, you will be coming right past me on I95 (Savannah area), I would be happy to meet up with you or give you a spot to wrench/sleep before you hit the road again if you need it.

That's excellent, thank you Ari!  I was trying to work a sleeping spot near Savannah, whether it be camping or a hotel!  I'll give you a PM when I roll through!

~Just got the NH it's Xmas present (besides the forks) this afternoon.  4 brand new spark plugs!

Travelfar
When you get to Micco FL, drop me a line, and we will get together for a visit.
Micco is just about an hours ride North of me.
Also ERAU-944 is about 30 min South of me, we have not got together yet so that would be a good time to meet up.
We can find out about your travels.
I don't have a very good place for wrenching, but will help if I can.
