Greetings,

Would anyone know off-hand any other models (Honda or otherwise) that had the turn signal stalks mounted through the headlight bucket instead of farther down the fork tubes? I need a headlight bucket, have searched everywhere and can't find a new or used one for the 450.  I found an Emgo unit but it isn't compatible for bucket-mounted turn signal stalks (the side nuts are too small). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Joe

You should have tons of choices as that was/is a fairly commmon set-up. I would search ebay for Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki  headlights/buckets and see what comes up. Might have to think outside the box a little but you can probably make something work. Good luck.

I found a new headlamp assembly this past summer/fall for my 86 450. I used different signals and had to drill longer bolts in order to mount/wire them. I will hunt down my paperwork on where I ordered them. The bucket is plastic, but fits and looks great.

Just replaced my headlight bucket on my 85 450 and ran the blinkers through the bucket mounts. They were aftermarket blinkers and the thread fit perfect. I went with a honda cx500 bucket (8") as I was wanting a larger headlight. Here is a few pics. Good luck and look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Just an update in case anyone needs a replacement assembly; I sourced one for the 450 through Partsandmore.com out of Canada. It was a Xanadu unit from Taiwan and seems to be of pretty decent quality. Very fast shipping and cost was about $50 including headlight.  Thanks again for the replies.
