A little over a week ago I gave both of my helmets a bath in shampoo-infused water to get some of the funk of a season's riding out. And, while the dousing seemed to work, my basement has been too cool to really get them drying out well. The foam was still damp to the touch and I didn't want all that moisture just sitting in there much longer. As they say, 'Necessity is the mother of invention', so I simply 'retasked' my shoe/boot dryer.

One night on the dryer and they dried out just fine:

I have a 5" 12V computer fan laying around just for such situations. Works on gloves too.

Unless said pads can't be removed from the helmet. Then you give the whole thing a good dunking and agitating in shampoo-infused water, rinse in clean water for a long time, squeeze what you can out, let it sit in the basement draining for a few days, and put it on the shoe dryer for a top-off.

This last summer I made a sketch using the idea of a boot drier, except my idea allowed the dryer to be mounted on a wall. It would be nice to have during the summer, after a 30 min ride my helmet will be wet and will take several hours for the sweat to dry.

Unfortunately I dont have a workshop that I could build my design and tinker with it to make it work.

Pennytech idea: Large PVC pipe that will mount on the wall as desired. Capped pipe with multiple holes drilled in the pipe. Flexible hose attached to the pipe and to a hair blow dryer. No shop required and you could easily build it while standing in a small closet with a screwdriver, drill and parts.

Did a quick search for 'helmet dryer' and came up with a number of solutions for those of us unwilling or unskilled enough to invent our own solution:
