And it was working. Move back to the states (If you can call S. Fl part of the states - I'm still debating that) And get the wife interested in motorcycles - I've learned from experience the best way to get to indulge in expensive hobbies is to get the SO interested in them too. So I start with the Nighthawk - I love me some classic, standard honda air cooled in line 4's But we were to eventually grow into sport/adventure touring. So we get the nighthawk and everything is progressing nicely. Next phase is the "hand me down phase". We buy a second bike more in line with where we want to go and I (of course) take that bike and wife gets Nighthawk. We then wait awhile and purchase a second sport/adventure tourer and sell the nighthawk. Wife takes the bike I had been using and I (of course) take the new bike. Well phase two started yesterday New To Me - 2009 Wee Strom - 1 by stromgirl2009, on Flickr And it's all gone to hell - wife's keeping it and I am "stuck" with the nighthawk

Well, look on the bright side. There's much worse things to be stuck with than a perfectly good Nighthawk.

I'd say the plan is still going nicely. Now, when phase 3 comes up, it's a no brainer who's getting the (read - FJR, ST, Connie, etc.)!!!
The weestrom is a tall bike for a lady rider - my 5'-0" SOQS wouldn't be able to tippy toe that one!
Good luck.

No sympathy from me. Your wife rides and you've "got to" ride the Nighthawk. Too bad I've always driven the "old" car.

After 30 years of marriage I learned a few things, and one of the top 5 is :
If momma ain't happy, you ain't gonna be happy either.
Be grateful she rides, you have something you can do and share together. Ride safe, make memories, and enjoy each other while you can.

So the storal of the mory is to not give the keys of the vehicle you like to anyone especially if they have influence on you? Look at it this way, if you're out riding together and a motorcycle breaks down, you'll probably already be riding the one that goes after the repair parts. It'll all sort itself out in the end. When you get the next motorcycle in the sequence, you'll likely get to ride that weestrom all you want.
