Probably a good move, I remember the first time I heard of them, I was confused about whether or not they sold used gear.

You scared the crap out of me.  DirtDOG A buyout or sellout is certain death to a mom and pop operation and the ethics involved have less of a chance of survival.

Just change the sign on the front of the building and nothing else I'm good with. Otherwise I'd be sending a big nastygram.

Too bad the tradition of the name has to be lost however from a business point of view, it's a good decision as long as the established customers are aware of it.

As long as everyone knows the name has changed I think it's a good move too.  Great company with great service, hope they stay that way for many years to come.

Can't say I'm fond of the change, but it's not my call.  I am, however, annoyed that for some reason, the firewalls at work allowed newenough.com, but not motorcycle.com.  So no shopping from work.  banghead

I was a part of a web forum for several years, and a bit of a power user. It was a great site when it was run by the guy that started it up (though not nearly as polite as this group). Then, he ended up selling the site to a media group. I tried to give it a fair shake for a few months, but the whole feel of the place changed. Ads started popping up all over the place and the extra exposure in the magazines brought in a whole new crowd of users. It went downhill from there. I ended up moving over to another site started up by another disgruntled former user and enjoyed that much more.

Bigger is not always better.

In the case of NewEnough, it seems to make sense to affect a name change. I too wondered about the name when I first heard about it, thinking it was second-hand gear. But this sort of thing happens all the time -- a business starts out with one name based on what they do at their onset, then the scope of what they do or what they're known for changes enough that the old name really isn't applicable. How many people know that BSA Motorcycles started as Birmingham Small Arms?
