I haven't been on this forum for a long time; I had a really bad 2010 and the doctor kept me off the bike.  2011 wasn't starting much better, so when a riding buddy called for a Saturday ride, I jumped at the chance.  It was in the 30s when we left for the mountains but it soon got to the 60s.

Everything was perfect - clear sky, light traffic, good company, GREAT scenery, and it felt like I'd never been away from riding.  After a few hours, we stopped at a store.  For those of you who know the north Georgia mountains, we were heading south on hwy 60 between Blue Ridge and Suches - a very curvy mountain road.  Just as we were leaving, two kids on sport bikes came flying by.  We're a couple of 59 year-old geezers, so naturally we gave chase.  Now, neither of us is great in the twisties and our bikes - my Nighthawk and his GS - aren't either.  I rarely scrape my pegs and there was no way we were going to catch competent sport bikers, but we caught these guys.  We got on their tails and they pulled over and let us pass.  Afterwards, we stopped at a Mexican restaurant for tacos and a Dos Equis before heading home.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to share and this seemed to be the best place.  Just a quick 200 mile jaunt into the North Georgia mountains and I feel completely refreshed.  So far this week has been great!  Never underestimate the power of Nighthawk Therapy!

Good for you!

I went riding 3 days ago before the arctic air hit Denver and after a 3 month hiatus from riding, it sure felt great to be up on 2 again.
