The first pic is a 2001 Kawasaki ZR-7S
Second is a 1976 CB550K that I'm going to either cafe or make a quasi-streetfighter.
Third pic is of my 1974 Kawasaki Z1A that I have completely rebuilt with modern front and rear suspension and some internal goodies for the engine. Talk about a money pit!!! biker_h4h1
I also have a 1974 CB200T that has less than 7K miles, but it had been sitting outside unprotected from the elements for almost 20 years!!!! It is ratty but everything is there, including good compression on both cylinders. It's just going to take a LOT of media blasting and elbow grease.
Finally I have a 1982 XL185S that I bought for $200. I figure I can put another 2-3 hundred in it and have a good put-put bike or re-sell it and replenish my paypal account. banana banana

Regarding the Z1, I SHOULD say that I'm in the "process" of rebuilding it.
I'm almost finished though; about ready to send the bodywork out for paint.
I just can't decide on a color though. Cry Cry

The ZR-7S looks alot like the Z750S, which I would've bought had they not, you know, discontinued it.
Is it in the vein of a Nighthawk, or a bit more hard-edged?

I would say it's in the NH vein, although it is a bit faster than a NH. It handles pretty sweet, too.
The engine is basically a GPZ engine from the 70s/80s.
Now before you start thinking that I should belong to a Kawasaki forum (which I do), I must tell you how I came to own this ZR7.
Five years ago I got the hots for a motorcycle again. I hadn't owned one since the '84 Nighthawk S I bought back in the day. It had been about 18 years since I last owned a bike. Sad
Once I got that "feeling" again, I started doing my research on the 'net. Finally I made up my mind that the first bike I wanted to own was a new Nighthawk 750. My second choice was a 919; third choice was the ZR-7S. I go to my local Honda dealer and of course they not only didn't have a NH in stock, but they were also sold out of the 919. (As I look back, not getting a 919 was a blessing in disguise).
Of course the Kawi dealer had a ZR7 on the floor (in the faster red color naughty). I applied for credit at the dealer, then went home to let the wife know that I was about to buy a motorcycle! She didn't have a clue I was interested in a bike. jkam jkam She travels extensively and was on the road in Minnesota. I gave her a call, expecting to get her voice mail. Of course with my luck she picked up immediately. I was speechless for a second or so, but it seemed much longer.
After a bit of small talk I asked her "How do you feel about us getting a motorcycle"?
She replied "A motorcycle????????????" I said Yea!; then she replied "Cool!"
I quickly said "BYE!" and went back to the dealer. naughty naughty
When I rode off the parking lot, the first thing I noticed was how cool it was to be back on two wheels.
Rather quickly I also noticed that the ZR was the first bike I had owned or ridden since the advent of cell phones! yikes yikes yikes yikes yikes
Anyway, I've always been a Honda guy at heart, but right now I also own two Kawis.
Sorry for the long post; I got carried away. ricky
