So i bought re-manufactured carbs from a reputable seller on ebay, and i was putting them on an i noticed the air intake manifold circles are smaller than the carb i took off, the intake air boots are too big... so i am wondering if this is a different engine on this bike or someone put carbs from like a 650 on my cb550sc ??

The carbs i ordered are: 49mm diameter and the part number on them is VE 62AAUI  1 ? (not sure if that was a one the end it either a one on an i)

The old carb that i took off is 54mm diameter and part number VE 54AAUI = (this one had an equal sign at the end)

  My engine # is PC09E-2014641

VIN # on the frame is  jh2pc0907dm014573

The title says its ccm 550.

I am wondering if the ebay guy sent me wrong carbs or the previous owner changed the motor or maybe just put bigger carbs on ?

You may have said, but what's wrong with the carbs that were on the bike?

From the 1983 Honda CB550sc manual (page 24-2),
32mm venturi
VE62A  identifier

1983 GB650SC  (page 4-1)
29.2mm Venturi
VE54A identifier
VE75A identifier for California 1984

I am not sure what the outer diameter has to do with the inner diameter, which ought to be the venturi.
The OD & ID may not correspond.  I am surprised that the 550 uses larger venturi than the 650.

I hope you get it sorted out.  It looks like the PO switched carbs on your bike.

Ride safely,

Ok, so you pulled the 650 carbs off and put 550 back on? Do you want to sell the 650s?
