Hi guys,
new to the forum, just got my first 450 nighthawk,86,

previously owned super dream cx500 silverwing and rode pan european for work.

am in the UK but bike was imported here approx 10 years ago.

goes well but needed new headlight, ordered one from David Silver,

when it arrived it seemes too small for the rim, and attachment holes don't line up,

David silver checked the part no and told me it is definatly the right headlight.

any idea where i have gone wrong, and any suggestions as to what other headlight might fit instead.

regards

welshman

Finding one for my over the winter 85 450 project bike  was a major PITA that headlight case  is specific to that model. I found a replacement unit from I believe Parts Unlimited in Canada. I will verify when I get home. The unit is a Xanadu from Taiwan and was around $50. You will still need a few lock washers for the turn signal stalks. Overall a decent set up. Also, ignore the small city light in the headlight. That's Euro-spec.

PS
May have been Partsandmore in Canada. Google the Xanadu headlight and should come up. By the way, apparently the rest of Asia knows most Chinese stuff is crap. The Xanadu box stated in big bold type, "Not made in China".

PPPS.
Just realized you're in the UK; In that case don't ignore the city pilot light :)
