According to Bumblebee's scooter types, I guess I would fall somewhere between 2 and 3. I was slightly less than sensible riding around campus, but smart enough to know that girls will hop on the back of a Vespa without a moment's hesitation. LOKi, that isn't the tallest windscreen they sell (I'm 6'4"), but you're right about the aerodynamics. I usually take the screen off in the summer.

I previously had an '82 or '83 750 (can't remember which ) It was a good bike, but a little on the heavy side. I hope your 4 into 4 pipes are as good as they look. Mine were going bad and not available, but the bike burned up in my garage and solved the problem for me. BTW to the best forum around.

Great find! to the forum. SOQS is interested in a scooter. She wants to start out on a scooter and then move up if/when she feels comfortable. I couldn't be happier.

SOQS is interested in a scooter. She wants to start out on a scooter and then move up if/when she feels comfortable. I couldn't be happier. claps Then try and find an 80's P200 or even the smaller ones from that time era. They have a clutch and shifter. Although the shifter is the left grip and it twists. That way she is at least used to the whole shifting thing. Stella also makes the P200. They bought the tooling from Piaggio and the right to produce the same bike. So you can actually get those cool 80's style P200 but made yesterday.

There seem to be three primary types of scooter riders:
I'm a #4, a maxi scooter rider. SOQS is interested in a scooter. She wants to start out on a scooter and then move up if/when she feels comfortable. I couldn't be happier. Might want to start looking for one. With gas prices going up I am starting to get stopped for questions all the time. If these people start buying scooter prices are going to be rising pretty quick.

LOL, I love that you're color coordinating for me :)
Can I paint it pink? I'll leave some tan for contrast/coordination.

I would encourage anyone to get a scooter, especially a Vespa or Vespa-style. The Stellas that LOKi mentioned are great. Besides having cool lines the step-through design makes it feel like you're in a flying chair. I found scooters after a respite from motorcycles and they really brought the joy of riding back, although scooters also make great beginner rides and confidence builders. I like the old school scoots but they come in a wide variety of sizes and displacements. Vespa's parent company, Piaggio, makes all kinds of scooters and motorcycles. Vespas are to scooters what Nighthawks are to motorcycles and I've found the riders of both stand a good chance of becoming obsessed with their wheels.

Dig the color of your bike. I do like the Vespa's. Such a classic look. Keep the shiny side up. velcro...My roommate in college had that scooter. I used it as a grocery getter my freshman year. The 250 Elites are way cool and....it's a Honda.
