basically i wanted a bike.  saw this guy for what i considered a very reasonable price an i bought it.  26,xxx miles.  runs great.  needs some clutch love.  i ordered the friction discs and 10% stiffer springs.  doing it up next weekend i reckon, if the parts show up on time.  managed to get 110 miles in before needing to rebuild the clutch.  i love riding this motorcycle.  it's my first bike, and i'll likely be hanging on to it for a long time.  i want to get some soft saddle bags for it.  anybody got pics of a nighthawk s with luggage on it?
i'm in downtown richmond, va.  if you live near me gimme a holler and we'll go ride.

I know there's a least one other Richmond nighthawk, but I don't recall who at this time.

That 700 looks good.

Hey option13, it's great to see another member in RVA. I live very near Forest Hill Park/Westover Hills/Reedy Creek area.  After I get my clutch issue sorted out, we should meet up sometime.

Drdubb, I'll have to check out the Deal's Gap rally.  I have a walleye fishing trip on Lake Erie in June and I'd like to ride my NH up there.  A rally would be good riding practice (my first bike) as well as a chance to see if there are any mechanical issues that need to be addressed before attempting such a trip.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Dried out and broken stalks are a common problem. I had to replace mine as well. You can find a couple threads here about after market stalks that are less expensive. Although I went with honda stalks.

Spoken as if I said it myself! Pipes look great (as does the rest of the bike), and it's one of the first things I look at.  Take care of it.

Welcome to the group - ride safe.

Good looking bike - well care for.

Bike Master should have a set of aftermarket turn signals that will work.  They are good quality.  You can shop them online, but you will have to go to your dealer to buy them - they won't sell to you direct.

wow, those cortech bags really fit on there nicely.  beautiful bike by the way.  i will have to check out some online pricing for cortech stuff, i reckon.  any idea what the model name of those bags are?  (cortech interstate bags, etc?)

thanks for the pics, and like jonno173 said, interesting fairing.

I am in the West End of Richmond.  Welcome to the group!  If you are going to the rally in May let me know and we can ride there together.  My buddy should be riding his CB400 Hawk there as well.

Here is a link to those saddlebags:
http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/luggage/saddlebags_/cortech_by_tour_master/cortech_motorcycle_saddlebags.html

I also bought the matching tailbag, cause it all fits together nicely and can come off in one piece if you want it to. I only use it when I need it, same for the tank bag. Most of the time I ride with just the saddlebags.

The windshield is the slipstreamer sport fairing ss-28.

Looks a tad funny but I really don't mind it vs how much it helps. My biggest worry when I first got the bike was how uncomfortable it was at interstate speeds. The mini fairing seemed to funnel all this wind to my chest and blow me all over the place. This windshield is nice and short but totally takes the wind blast off my chest and I can ride comfortably. Rode it down to the coast for a job earlier this month with no trouble, about an 8 hour drive.

If you just want saddlebags, this is a great deal:
