Another one up and running
« on: September 02, 2014, 01:08:09 PM »
I just finished getting my XS1100 back on the road. Several years ago the engine craped out on me. (hole in the #3 cylinder and in the crank case) With it sitting for so long parts were scavenged from it and at one point I thought I would never get it back into service. I got the parts as I had extra money (that never seems to happen  hmmmm2 ) and after three or so years its mostly done. (At least it is ride able).
This is what it looked like when I first got it (I can't remember what year I picked it up  whaaaat3 )

When I first put it back on the road

and finally what she looks like now

This bike will only be in my stable for a few more months  :'( It will be going to my son-in-law who was discharged from the Army because of injuries sustained while in Afghanistan.
Hopefully I will be able to add this to the gas tank

Better a riding mate than a stable mate.  Problem with stablemates, can only really have one out at a time.  This way you can listen and look at the yami ridden by somebody obviously well earned for it.

I got the graphics done. Here are some pics of the process...

I had 12 different stencils that I made (I wish I had taken a pic to each layer) then from this point it was all by hand.

This is what it looked like when I gave it to him (buffed all the over spray out. He and my daughter have moved to Minnesota.
