I just have a quick question about the bars on the late 750 nighthawks. Are they open ended, or are they plugged? I would like to put some bar ends on my '03 and couldn't tell with the stock, closed-end grips on there. I know this is a newbish question , but everyone here is pretty nice. I tried to search, but couldn't find anything conclusive. Thanks!

Mine are plugged. I had the same ? I was wondering if it was cool to drill them out, since they came that way. Thanks for the post. time to get the drill out.

Ok, sounds I should expect them to be plugged. What is the tap size I will need?

That would depend on the guards you buy.

He's not installing guards, but bar ends, Sounds like you'd be better off just buying new bars if you want bar ends.

The plugs are very shallow on my '85, probably are on the 750 as well. The PO had cut off the end of the bar just a bit and cut the plug off. The length didn't change enough to be noticeable. Just my $.02
