Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the new ride. I am sure someone will chime in soon on rivit size, I was want to know a bit more on the cleaning of your tank? What did you use to neutralize the muriatic acid. How bad was your tank before cleaning. Thanks

my tank was acctually beautiful inside BUT it sat since 04 with 1/2 a tank of gas in it and it was like a plate of chunky chips of gunk alllll round the tank. and i used baking soda to nutralize it. by the way it kills plants and grass verry verry quickly

Muriatic Acid works like a charm. I used it on a old pioneer chain saw that had been sitting for about 10 years. That was Alum. and it cleaned the gunk out like it was new. How does it work on rust in there?

The parts behind the rivets are not available. There is a rebuild kit for our petcocks, I just bought one, but not the parts behind the rivets. BTW

Dude, your making it way more difficult than it needs to be with 3 threads trying to figure it out. Why don't you just use some self tapping screws like has been suggested. Take the petcock to a hardware store and get something that fits. Oh, btw, welcome to the forum. Now get that thing on the road.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think the complete petcock is available any longer. One website shows the body being available for around $90. Part # 16951-MJ1-015
So how did it look inside there? Bunch of junk built up? Is that 4 hole gasket going to be reusable?
