Today SOQS and I started with going to a local 4H event to support the local club we volunteer and work with. We decided that today was so beautiful that we should take an evening ride. So we called are nearby riding buddies and by 5:00pm this afternoon was on the road headed really no-where. Along the way we decided (Q2 are great for this) to head over to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to get some photos and just relax by the water for a little while. These photos were shot on my phone, so forgive some of the quality. There is nothing great to them, but I wanted to share with yall part of a fantastic, relaxing time I enjoyed with my wife and friends this evening.

BTW here is some links on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge: Fascinating history.
http://interstate275florida.com/ssb.htm
and an article on the anniversary of it collapsing after being struck by a ship
http://www.tampabay.com/specials/2010/reports/sunshine-skyway-bridge-collapse/

In the haze you can see one of the many cruise ships headed out to sea. And the new bridge built in the 80's

My SOQS (Andrea) in yellow and our riding buddies we met a few years ago.

The obligatory NH shot.

SOQS on the Blue Beauty and the cruise ship passing under the bridge, if you have ever stood near one of these cruise ships then you have some perspective on the height of the bridge.

The original bridge memorial stone construction started in 1950 and finished in 1954

This was shot just before leaving.

And lastly

Our sunset shot on the way home.

It is pictures like this that make me wish I lived further south. Thanks for sharing.

p.s. I assume you painted your headers black to cover up any blemishes caused by the P.O.?

Looks like a relaxing evening ride.  Probably drifted off to sleep thinking about riding.

makes me homesick. I crossed the sunshine skyway a few times a couple months ago but on 4 wheels just ain't the same. about 1991 or so while crossing that bridge the wind was blowing so strong it blew the antena off my car.
