Hello forum.  I am a fairly new rider (less than a couple months).  I was wondering what would be the best pants for me to buy for safety purposes.

So far I have:

Scorpion Helmet
Joe Rocket Padded Jacket
Joe Rocket Boots
HJC Gloves

I want to be as safe as possiblle for if/when I do lay the bike down, because from what I hear, it is inevitable.  I searched this thread before I posted this and I came across so many different types of pants.  As for my budget, I mean $100.00 seems reasonable for a good pair of pants.   All suggestions/comments appreciated.

I picked up a nice set of Joe Rocket Ballistic 2.0 pants from ebay for ~$40 used.  So far they have been great pants.  thumb  Kudos to you for buying ATGATT!  claps

I had to google ATGATT.   Hap1

I know the the G was for gear, but I guess I am still new to motorcycle forum lingo.    smiler

I will check out ebay.  It would be nice if I could get matching pants with my Joe Rocket jacket.

That is a great buy!  If I don't find anything on ebay, I will definitely try to pick those up.  Thanks!

Problem with those pants might be the lack of liner? If you plan to ride in warm and cool weather getting a pair of mesh pants with a liner can take you through most seasons. It could save you needing more than one pair?

It's never long with one of these kinds of topics before someone mentions one of the go-to sources for gear -- at least amongst our crowd: http://www.motorcyclegear.com/.

Many, many satisfied customers in this forum and their prices are really good. I regularly check out their Closeout and Last Chance sections for deals.

Also, keep your eyes on your local Craig's List MC section. I just got a pair of barely used FirstGear pants with liner for $35.
