Have narrowed jacket down to 2 choices:

Tour Master Transition Series 2, or Scorpion XDR commander.
Both in high-vis yellow.

I was planning on spending $50 on a conspicuity vest, but this color option would negate the need for it, I think.

Both seem to get good reviews. I'm leaning toward the Scorpion.

Rec's?

Thanks.

I have a Tourmaster Trasition 2 jacket(bright yellow) for 3 years. It offers very good protection (never field tested though) and versatility. Full adjustments at sleeves and waist. It claimes waterproof but not ridden in rain for a prolonged period, so I cannot prove it.

Good:
- Once break-in, it fits like a glove
- Full sleeve length liner offers good insulation
- 3/4 jacket so it's good for cold weather riding
- nicely placed vents (upper shoulder and back) offer cool riding during hot days but heats up fast while stopped at lights.
- many pockets. I guess there are 10.  I am still counting how many are there.  Remember which pocket you put your stuff. Otherwise you will never find it again :)

Bad:
- Too much velcros at each pocket/vent openings. So sometimes it's annoying.
- A little poor workmanship: I replaced several snap-on bottons.

Overall, it's a good investment.

I also have a Tourmaster, it's a different model but I can assure you that their gear is very high quality and loaded with great features.  thumb

I'll second Ari - I've got 2 Cortech/Tourmaster jackets and they've been great for years.  I'm looking to replace my GX sport for a Transition sometime this year, just because I'd like the longer length.

Are those the correct jackets??  I like the look of the TourMaster better but the storm collar on the Scorpion is an interesting feature.  I agree that TourMaster makes solid gear, I think I can say the same about Scorpion for the few items I've looked at.

I have the Scorpion Assault which is very similar to the commander, a little shorter and short collar. I love it. Build quality is top notch. Ive worn it through all 4 seasons. Just the jacket with both liners (waterproof and quilted vest) is warm enough for weather approaching freezing. Ive ridden in some pretty good rain and not a drop has gotten through.

I have a Tourmaster Saber 2 jacket for 3 years now, it is very high quality, great fit, looks good.
