Hey gang,

Just got home with my new '95 Nighthawk 750. I had a '00 cbr600 f4 in high school and have recently been messing around with a '72 cb350, but needed something more powerful and reliable that could comfortably take my woman and I on longer trips yet maintain the classic naked Honda cb look. After tirelessly searching through all the sports, standards and cruisers both new and old... alas, I found it!

It came with a front fairing that I'd like to sell or trade for a sissy bar/rack. Anyone know what these go for or who makes them?

Nice bike.  The fairing looks like a MEIR, sold by J. C. Whitney for one, around $80.00.   Noticed one pic where the back of the exhaust looked like it had a several holes. Stock exhaust has 4 holes per side, and all 4 holes have a rivet in them.  The holes are at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock.  Wonder what has been done.  Enjoy, and ride safe.

Thats a vance and hines system, mine as the same holes. Hey I dig that fairing. Could you tell me the distance between the inner headlight opening to the back of fairing, (measuring above the indentions for the blinkers). Let me know when you put it up for sale. Good looking bike and  welcome

Just installed my new turn signals and headlight visor.

My brother gave me some nice looking bar end mirrors that I'd like to try but I'm having one hell of a time drilling out the handlebar weights. I stopped at three local shops hoping they could quickly give it a zap but they all said it would be easier/cheaper to just get new handlebars. It kind of sucks to have to go through the effort without ever trying bar end mirrors before - not even sure if I'll like 'em! ... anyway I'll have to get a bunch of new drill bits and give it some more good old elbow grease.

heh, yeah that's my helmet... great with red baren goggles when beating around town on my 350 but by far the worst head piece for anything over 40mph.

I went down to my local dealer today, tried on an HJC is-max and saved $50 by ordering it online through my phone - thank you amazon droid app.  happy1 ... don't feel bad, the usual salesman at the dealer is rarely pleasant. I love the iron man look to this thing and it's very comfortable. Most reviews I've seen are good, but we'll see how it holds up at high speed. I have the feeling it'll need a chin curtain or something.

A few quick questions.

I noticed that my throttle doesn't snap back up when I let go and slowly rolls back up to closed when I release it. I adjusted the throttle cable at the handlebar which seemed to make it worse. I then shot a little wd-40 on the bottom section of the two throttle cables above the carbs, and adjusted them slightly up (trying to get more tension) - which didn't seem to make any difference at all. The throttle wires seem a little loose at the bottom. Anyone have this problem... cable needs a full lubing maybe?

On another note... although I do like the sport bike sound of the vance & hines exhaust, it's a bit too high pitched for me. I've become more of a cafe racer at heart and am considering looking for a lower pitched muffler. From youtube videos it seems that the stock exhaust might be too quiet. I want something with a nice deep rumble but not deafening while opened up on the highways. Any thoughts?

For the throttle cables, You may have them binding. There's a little hole in the bars where the housing for the cables fits into it. If you don't get that lined up right, the cables will hang up.

For the exhaust, there isn't much for aftermarket, but a stock exhaust with the baffles drilled gets a much lower note that may be as close as you're going to get.
I wouldn't drill a stock exhaust, I'd find one already done. The stockers are getting rare...

Ah, I didn't think of that - maybe I shifted the cable around when removing the fairing.

Yeah I saw a video for drilling out the stock baffle. Do you know if the stock muffler fits the V&H header? ... happen to know the O.D.?

Finally got my bar end mirrors in. After three trips to Home Depot and an almost epic failure trying to find the proper drill bit... I walk to the local hardware shop which had exactly what I needed.

I found it was easiest to use the 5/8" metal hole saw first, which left a cylinder in the center but was easily ripped up with a solid 1/2" bit.

I'm still not entirely sure how I want to position them and am not yet in love with the way they look, but I like how they open up my front view while riding. Also not great when squeezing through traffic in the city.

I was hoping to emulate the look of the new Harley fourty-eight but the NH tank is way too wide.

The O.D. on the v&h exhaust is 2 1/8" by the way... anyone recommend a deep pitched muffler? anyone try a glasspack?
