Since I started riding a couple of years back I've been using the same boots -- a pair of Timberland chukka boots that were already a bit old when I started using them. By now, the soles are getting pretty worn and I'm looking around for new boots. I'm just having a hard time finding something that works for me.

The dilemma is that I often wear the boots to work and have them on around the office all day. So a pair of traditional riding boots isn't all that appropriate. But I'd like to get away from boots with laces if I can.

I'm open to suggestions.

I bought a pair of 5.11 tactical boots. They are really light, have a side zipper, and have been working really well. I sprayed some kiwi waterproofing stuff on them, and they have been great!
Bought them on sale for $70 here: http://www.lapolicegear.com/5a8sizipbo.html

5.11 has some possibly more office-appropriate versions too.

These may seem expensive but when you figure that they have replaceable soles and will do a good bit of good in the event of a crash they are worth it.  I'm hoping to get some for my birthday.
