I'm in the market for a new backpack. My trusty-dusty old one is worn out. I mainly carry a tablet sized laptop, my work-out clothes and shoes and my lunch. Here's a couple I have my eye on... One Industries Honda Fadeout Backpack (I like this one best so far)  Fox Racing Honda Backpack Ogio Fugitive Backpack (ok I like several different Ogio, but this one is in the same price range)  Thoughts...recommendations...what do you use? |

Love the first one. Looks really convenient with the big zipper thingies and lots of separate compartments accessible from the outside. Do you know if it's waterproof as well?

Do you know if it's waterproof as well?
I don't think it is. But I could always spray with some some Scotch Guard. |

I'd go with the first one.. or one from Ogio. The way the Ogio ones fit a rider + gear is really nice, can't see much of the first one other than it does have a chest strap.

No joke , I'm still using what's left of my backpack from highschool , so that makes it about 15 years old , it's an old k-swiss , not too bad , it's still hanging in there . But then again I'm also still rocking the same no fear chain wallet that I bought on my way to a white zombie concert in 1994 .....the moral of this story is either "if it aint broke don't fix it" , or it's "try not to be as poor as tdodge7 is" ha ha . I have to agree though , that top one is my favorite .

The first one seems to be the general consensus.
A little anecdote...I went into the Honda dealer to see what they could get in the way of Honda backpacks. I wasn't too impressed with what they offered. So I asked if I could borrow their computer and I went on the nets and showed them the 'One Industries Honda Fadeout Backpack'. Their clerks answer was: "We can't get that...but I wish we could...I really like that!'. And I thanked them and walked out.

Personally, I prefer the more streamlined design of the Ogio.
I have 2 backpacks I use.
When I don't have the tank bag on and I don't have a lot to carry, I have a Nike runner's backpack I got at a garage sale for $1. One of the zippers is broken, but it still closes fine.
When I need to carry a fair amount of stuff, I have an old green/silver one that I got free when I attended some post-911 training I attended. Come to think of it, I'm still using the reflective yellow vest (for morning runs in the dark), hardhat (for trimming trees), safety goggles (in the shop) and numerous other items. Thank you, Federal Government Emergency Management grants!
What can I say, I'm a cheap SOB.

I definitely dont, and I normally sit in class anxiously waiting for dismissal just to get back on the bike. But I do have to carry books and other stuff for class. |

I just picked up a new one myself. I didn't wont to spend the money on a "motorcycle" backpack. I just got lucky while on vacation last week while the wife was looking at shoes in a rackroom shoe store. I picked up a nike pack for $20 on sale with chest strap and many extra pockets. I will use this mainly for my gym stuff and back and forth to work. Love it so far fist great and distributes the weight perfictly.

I just bought this pack in red/black to replace my old Obus one that finally bit it. http://tinyurl.com/6dbr3hkIt has two straps attached to it, one under the top pocket to hang from and the bottom strap for support, that are supposedly capable of lugging around a skateboard/snowboard, so I'm interested to see how it does with my helmet attached. |
