Hi all, been working on putting in, rather - put a cb 250 into a rigid bobber frame. Threw away most of the stock wire harness and have it all hooked up bare bones. Solenoid, vr, cdi, coil packs and plugs. I will try to spare the long story.... I had it running for about 5 minutes with the stock harness. 2 garage mechanics later i'm stuck with bare bones and still no spark. Swapped out the stator and the cdi. Now I'm looking at the VR with an ohm meter and I don't get any continuity between any of the pins. Is that odd? Also, does the back of the VR need to be grounded? May have a paint issue there.
Also have a green wire with a white strip that comes out of the CDI. It used to be part of the safety bullcrap associated with the stand switch and neutral light. What to do with it? Can't figure out if it needs ground or an open condition.
I'm leaning towards some kind of neutral defeat issue to get spark? Now that the neutral indicator wire is open at the case where it comes out.
Thanks
