Hey everyone! This is my first ride report, so here goes...

I went up Provo Canyon last week (lacked a decent internet connection to post pictures sooner...) and took a few pictures. The weather was beautiful, high 40's and low 50's depending on the elevation, and sunshine the whole way biker_h4h1

I rode up to Deer Creek Reservoir and snapped some pics there.

I love the look of the water, green hills and snowy mountains in the background!

I've been commuting to work and over the past few weeks there has been a lot of rain, leaving lots of road grime and salt residue all over the NH umph Sad
AND to make matters worse, my new apt complex does not allow washing vehicles on the premises. I guess I'm going to make friends with some neighbors with a house.

Here is the only picture of me in my gear! I asked a lonely park bench to take the picture for me.

I had to do some off-roading to get some picures  giggle

Here is a shot of some of the more gentle curves of the ride. This is the top of the canyon. When you're in the canyon, the road is much more exciting, and it feels good to lean into those curves at 75mph er...the speed limit of 55mph shog
Here are some shots in the canyon:

Provo river. This is very full from snow melt, and there is still a ton left in the mountains. Utah is going to get some very high flowing runoff this year.

The canyon features some really cool rock formations, including this spot where you can see all the layers.

I wish I could get "the" shot, that shows some pretty intense folds in the rock layers, but there is no safe spot to pull over and snap a pic

Those mountains in the background are striking.  Nice report, I had the chance to drive through Utah quite a few years ago, very beautiful state.  Looking forward to more of your adventures.

This is Squaw Peak Road, a small side road off of the main highway, and very popular among riders because it is very twisty. Sadly, the rest of it is closed for winter still. Should open up soon.

Here is the neighboring rock canyon. No roads up it, but this was a great shot of the snowy peak beyond.

Mount Timpanogos. Always looks good with snow and a little sunset light

The valley at sunset, featuring the little glowing sliver of Utah Lake

And just for fun, here is the "motorbike" parking at work:

Yeah Fishball, one of my favorite things about the state is the variety of landscapes you can encounter in one day.

Great first report!  claps That sure is some beautiful country.  happy1

Sorry to hear you can't wash the bike down at the new place...but there is nothing stopping you from Wiping it down with a good cleaner and a microfiber cloth.  That's the only stuff I use on my bike, no water needed and I can do it all parked in the garage.  beer

So, is there much runoff from that? The argument that management uses is that the detergents and chemicals damage the asphalt, which is BS. Asphalt is already crap from the way Utah weather destroys roads. My parking lot looks like a tar snake den! Unless someone is using some pretty heavy-duty solvents, it shouldn't be an issue.
