Just thought I'd share this idea here. I bought a CB700 and it came with an extra gas tank, so I'm planning on using it to make a nice cafe seat for it. Let me know what you think of this idea!

Wow, that looks pretty cool to me.

I'd probably want a little more padding for my bum though, just me  smiler

I bet the lines would flow very nicely...do it right and it will be a great one of a kind bike.

might want to try and add some clearance on the tank for the lower bars

I dig the way these 700's look without the side covers, for some reason...  Nice concept!

How does one do that? I thought of lowering the triple tree but that does nothing since the bars stay at the same level as the tank... Suggestions?

Its actually proven that a firm seat or just that little less cushion is actually more comfortable then the soft seats...

Wow, that actually looks really slick!  I don't know if that aircraft number has any personal significance, but you could change it to 700 and have a nice call out for the bike itself  naughty

Oh the 700 is a good idea. I'm going to start working on it soon, I just got done with finals. I'm going to model it in Solidworks and then start fabbing. I'll post lots of pics!

Hey, if you model up the frame in solidworks at all, I'd love to see that model once you are done?  I've thought about doing that but I really don't have time for it.

Sorry Snoop... Proven? by what? by whom?   puzzled  Certainly not by my rear end... yikes   I had a Corbin... Looked GREAT, perfect leather, nice shape, and HARD AS A ROCK...and an even skimpier passenger seat area than stock.

It made me tired, and would give me a sore butt with less than an hours's ride on smooth roads... sold it to a forum member who loved it... more power to him... and you!  But I can't see how your statement could apply to all riders... bought myself a used stock seat on ebay... much more comfortable to this old man.

Not sure how I missed this thread. That would look really sweet done up like that. I've never been a fan of jet inspired bikes or cars but it really seems to work with the 700S.    lurker

Here is how I would give it the jet fighter look.  I added a "700" to the tail instead of "400", I blacked out the front shock tubes, and painted a Russian star on the front which is the same as the Mig fighter jets and painted the brake calipers red. I also eliminated the front fender and got rid of the white lettering on the rear tire

How are you going to black out chrome? And hilariously enough, I didn't see this thread the first time around, but I have mocked this up:
