anti-fogging your visor.

I'm having problems with my helmet visor fogging on cold mornings. The helmet is a Bell Arrow "Strafer" (yes, I got suckered into buying it because of the cool paint job) and even with all vents opened up on it, it still wants to fog up on me.

Is there something you can coat the visor with to stop this? or am I just better off getting a new helmet?

BTW, the same thing happens to my mirrors sometimes. is there any fix for that??

I'm a member of the click trick, do it snowmobiling also. I believe there is antifog stuff available. Could always get a heated helmet.

I got mine from lenscrafters, you might try a similar place that makes eye glasses.

I found Fog Tech to work great!  You do have to reapply it every so often, but it works!  I've tried some of the spray on stuff that doesn't do a dang thing...

It comes in little single use packets for $0.99 at my local Cycle Gear.  I've found their Rain Coat product great too!

Took the words out of my mouth. I used to play paintball a lot and thats what we all used to keep our masks from fogging up. I have a Icon helmet with the vent thats designed to keep my mask from fogging. it works great, of course until you stop at the stop light and exhale at 6am. Then you can't see a damn thing. I started to keep mine cracked as well.

I used to always pick up Zooke at teh International Motorcycle show.  It's the best I've tried. 
Of course I always crack the visor when not moving.  Airflow is airflow.

As far as fogging is concerned, there is no cure for that during cold days. Some products offer some level of help but there is limit. You may try Pinlock inserts or other anti-fog sprays at eyewear stores or helmet stores. Those hydrophobic coating can take up to certain volumes of moisture/water. After that, you may see water droplets streaking down the shield (like the ice-cream freezer windows at supermarkets).  How do I know? I've been selling anti-fog coated polycarbonate/acetate sheets last 20 years.

Best practice can be: open up face shield during stops or at low speeds. At normal riding speed, fogging should clear up unless you closed the vents.

I use SOQS's hair conditioner. Just rub on a little bit rinse it off and your golden. Works well on scuba masks also.

When I was growing up, we used to always spit in our scuba masks, smear it around, and then rinse it real quick.  It worked pretty well, but I don't think I'd try it on my motorcycle helmet anytime soon.
