It's ok for short trips. But my wrists and elbows will hurt after a while on longer rides where there isn't a lot of movement. It helps to sit as far forward as possible so I dont put do much weight and pressure on my arms. I never ride it stock though.

Well, the purpose of a cafe racer is trips of no more than about three minutes, so comfort's not a requirement. Your bike is the only modified NH I've seen that looks decent to me.

Well, the purpose of a cafe racer is trips of no more than about three minutes, so comfort's not a requirement. Your bike is the only modified NH I've seen that looks decent to me.  and i knew that going into it but sometime my gf and I go on longer trips. I did 145 miles on it one day. And thank you. Check out cb seven fifty (not 750) cafes. The other countries got the better looking cb seven fifty so they have dual brakes in the front with better shocks in the rear plus rear disc brake and a better looking tank. here is one.

thank you. i got some other things that still need to be done but yeah, i think it looks a lot better then what i started with. One of my next mods is to do something with the exhaust. I want to set it up with a muffler that is more under the bike. Like this one.

From here, it looks like he is using a custom adapter to mount two large cone air filters to the stock air horns. This would greatly help straighten the airflow, which is why he can run it without the airbox.

Has anyone ever put a cb900 motor into a nighthawk?? 95 hp would be fun. PS, i put a new air filter in and wow, nice gain in hp. The old one was so dirty.

I wouldn't think so. It's not like the frame technology in the 750 was advanced compared to the CB900, so you wouldn't gain much other than keeping your old frame (compared to simply swapping bikes).

I looked into the CBX750 engine and the cams share the same part number as the cams on the Nighthawk S.

I thought i read some where (an old review article) that the nighthawks 750 was just a detuned version cbx750. But how much was it detuned. Doubt cams are worth 20 hp.

I read in an article a while back that the heads had some detuning done to them. Milder cams, smaller valves, less advance, possibly less compression. All in the name of a smoother, more friendly power band. Personally Id like it to have a little more kick at the higher half of the tach.
