Those are great fun.
Just make sure the riding surface is hard and not slippery.
I was at Palo Duro Canyon a while back and one of the paved stream crossings is almost always flooded with 4-6 inches of water. I started to ride across and my instincts said get off and walk it first. I walked across, came back across on a slightly different path, sat my soaking wet butt on the seat and took the second path across. That green wavy stuff that attached itself to the pavement surface was absolutely frictionless.

The air intake is way up under the seat, so stalling is not much of an issue. Not being able to see potholes is disconcerting.
So the pegs are high enough that your feet stayed dry?

the pegs didnt go under water, but there was alot of water splashing from the front tire so I had to lift my feet up.

My first motorcycle camping trip we did a water crossing. It was a stream crossing with flowing water about 3" deep. Then it rained the entire night and all the next day. On the second day we got up and crossed back to go home. The river was now ~8" deep and really flowing. Me can Kate had no problem but my other roommate's ST acted like a sail in the current and he almost went down. I love riding around New Orleans when it rains really hard. Those big puddles are fun. sorry didn't see your from Canada. correction: Those big puddles are fun eh. |
