Adjust your steering head bearings as they might be loose.

I've done some very long trips on different bikes (CB1000C, KTM 990 Adventure, Kawasaki KLR650, BMW K1300GT & R1150RT) and stayed in rotten hotels, camped, stayed in cabins and some really nice hotels.

When I do a trip I might have small motels in mind but I always bring my camping gear just in case I get stranded or decide to make it a dedicated camping trip.

It's all good!

In Jan of this year I rode a 3,200 mile trip from Denver to the west coast and back and we mostly stayed in small Mom & Pop motels.

My 990 Adventure in trip form with my camping gear in the black Wolfman duffle-

I owned a 2003 BMW R1150RT a few years ago-

It was a great bike except that I could never solve the well know boxer surging issue. I tried the jumper trick, different plugs, valve adjustments and synch of the fuel system, nothing worked. At low speeds it was just a PITA. I have friends that didn't have the issue on their bikes so it must of been something on this bike that I just couldn't nail down. It didn't have cruise control and that really make the miles pass when you need it.

Fast forward to this fall.

I bought a 2009 K1300GT- what a machine!

I highly recommend the K-bike over the R bike- so smooth & powerful, 165 HP of mile eating badness! it has a great cruise control, great instrumentation, fantastic adjustable suspension (on the fly), heated grips and seats, huge panniers, adjustable windscreen, and good fuel economy.

The thing I miss is the ability to post pictures to the site without using a third party.

I have heard the ya da ya da ya da before.

Bottom line, i liked the site for the pictures and there just isn't many any more.

I'm still hanging in.

Most mature forums disable the ability to attach/upload an image in posts because eventually inodes/files/space all become issues on the hosting server.

Hosting your images to a paid or free image host is not that big of a deal, it's just something to be learned and then used. I use SmugMug and it's a piece of cake.

I do all of mine own wrenching unless the bike is under warranty and an issue comes up that is the manufacturer's responsibility.

You can post pic via hotlinking from an image host but you cannot attach images (server space issue).

Guidance here-
