Does anyone have any experience dealing with this company? Good or bad experiences? I'm considering contacting them to see if they can mildly customize one of their nighthawk kits for me.

On my bike? No updates as of yet. My "Garaj Mahal" project is sitting at 99%. Hope to have it 100% early in the new year then play with the bike a little in between being on the treadmill (loosing the weight I'm sure I will put in in the next couple weeks.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanx Raven! Changing things is what I do though lol! Actually, pictures can be a little deceiving. The front of the tank has some rock chips, a few nicks and scratches here and there. Now don't get me wrong, I will complete all the necessary maintenance before I pretty it up a little more. The last owner never used it at all for the 2 years he owned it. The back tire actually has only one spot on it that is cracked in several places. I suspect because it didn't even move from the same spot during that time. I already have bought 2 tires. When I repair something, I often think ahead. Example, if I'm replacing the tires, might as well powder coat the rims while they are off. So that will likely happen before next summer. It's running good, once warmed up but it should start easier I believe. If idle falls to 900ish, it develops a tick or knock, my neighbor thinks is ping. After doing some research I'm wondering if it's the cam chain adjuster? Or could be as simple as a carb rebuild / sync issue. I'll do the carbs probably before anything else and see what that solves. Anyway, more comments and questions coming in the upcoming months!

Greetings all from Brandon, Manitoba, Canada!

I grew up on bikes back home (Newfoundland) before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba for work after college in 1999.

My first bike (well, family bike) was a 1981 Yamaha Tri-Moto 125, then a 1983 Honda Z50R, then a 1984 Honda XL80S, then a 1983 Honda ATC200, then a (Midnight Blue) 1984 Honda Nighthawk CB450 I had for a little over a year and sold in the summer of 1991. I always said I would have another one day, and the time has now come!

About 2.5 months ago I picked up a 1983 650 Nighthawk, Candy Wineberry Red (color will likely change) with 14,500 kms or 9,010 miles for my American friends whoohoo1

Hadn't rode a bike since 1991 when I sold the other Nighthawk, bought this one, drove it 400 kms home (248.5 miles whoohoo1), just like old times except for the butt being a little sore viol

The first repair it needed for safety inspection was a replacement neutral safety switch. When I took it apart it had completely disintegrated!  Neutral light was on all the time and it always displayed being in neutral, or didn't display anything IIRC. Quick and dirty fix was solder the wire for 1st gear closed so now the bike wouldn't start in any gear, including neutral, without the clutch being engaged. Perfect! Better than new from a safety perspective  muhaha2. A couple weeks later I picked up a used switch on ebay, displays are now operating correctly.

I have already ordered a pile of parts and accessories for this thing and am considering a full restomod restoration (mostly modernizing the appearance, no crazy changes).

Anyway, as with all my toys, get online and find a forum of similar minded people with specific knowledge! I look forward to asking you piles and piles of questions whoohoo1

Anyway, here she is,
