General Motorcycle Discussion / Re: What's Your NightHawk Worth?

Geography plays a big part as well. I think (always dangerous I know) that these bikes may be a little more popular in the coastal areas than inland. At least here in Colorado you see a lot of Harleys and for Japanese bikes big cruisers.

Can this knowledge be learned on their own?

And your point is what?

Your Ride Reports / Re: Better Late Than Never
« Last post by Blakhawk on January 29, 2018, 01:25:53 PM »
In 1971 I and a friend took a trip around Lake Superior, two up on his bike, a new Bonneville.  Took nine days to get around that lake, and I loved every second of it.

Looks like a great ride, my kidz still talk about our trip to see the heads as they refer to Mt. Rushmore.

SS, long time no chat, great report.  Let's plan a ride this spring.  I had a chance to get out last Saturday for about 150 miles but still have the chills.  Not complaining though, I'll take January riding in Chicago any day.

General Motorcycle Discussion / Clutch removal problem
« Last post by Tex on January 28, 2018, 10:31:44 AM »
Hi there, I’ve a 1983 US 750sc , when taking the clutch cover off I expected to see 6 bolts holding the pressure plate, but nothing to put a socket or spanner on , a bearing in the centre then a cover plate where you’d expect to see the 6 bolts, the ‘cover’ plate has 3 notches around the circumference, spin it off with a punch and hammer I wondered, surely not . So I downloaded the exact service manual for my model and it shows a clutch like i expected to see originally. Everything I pull up off the web never shows my clutch. Is the engine possibly out off a later bike ? I’ve looked at it for ages but can’t see how to get them clutch plates out. Any ideas please , I feel I must be missing something, maybe an expensive Honda service tool is needed , I really don’t know mate. Hears hoping, Cheers Tex

Your Honda Nighthawk / Re: Nighthawk S restomod

I agree with you that the "S" was ahead of its time. I like your take on personalizing the bike without going away from the original style.

Ed- do a google search, lots of resources for tips on buying a used MC. Honda parts are easy get. If you do get the bike get a parts guide for it and then search online by part number and you will find pretty much anything. Good luck with the search.  cheers3
